The concept of reincarnation has been around ever since ancient times, and to this day there are still people all over the world that believe they have had a past life. Just as most oriental people believe in reincarnation, so to do the Australian aborigines and many Africans. In fact many new age religions also believe in past lives and that those past lives have a direct influence on one’s present life.
With regards to reincarnation, it is believed that a past life has a direct impact on your well being and your health in this life, and for that reason it is perhaps advisable that you get to ‘know yourself’ and that you become familiar with who you were in a past life. Furthermore, in order to become a better and stronger person in this life, one should learn how to integrate all the many strengths which one has accumulated during past lives.
How can you be sure if you’ve had past lives or not? The truth is, you simply cannot be sure, even though you may have peculiar dreams or disturbing memories when you’re awake, that you feel don’t belong to you. Interestingly enough, while a vast number of people believe that everyone has had a past life, some basic mathematics shows clearly that this is not the case, and that there must certainly be some new souls. Some other indications to look out for would include:
* A particularly strong attraction to a certain culture that you’ve not had anything to do with in this life. It for example you’re attracted to works of art from the Victorian era, you may have some connection to that era in a past life. In that case you should do some research with regards to the art of that era and if you discover that the art you’re attracted to is from a limited time period, then there’s a good chance that you’ve been around before.
* Have you ever felt yourself becoming unusually emotional with regards to an event which took place at some point in history? If for example you become very emotional when you read about a certain event, then there is of course a possibility that you were involved in some way or another.
* Phobias and allergies which to the best of your knowledge do not originate from your childhood years, could also be linked to a previous life.
While the above list is far from being a complete list of indicators, it does however point out a few of the common ones. However, even if you have experienced one or more of the above, that does not necessarily mean you are remembering a past life. Instead, you should focus on looking for some type of pattern with regards to the things which tend to attract you for no obvious reasons. Once you do start to notice a pattern forming, putting the puzzle together will become increasingly easy.

Once you start remembering, you’ll be able to move on in this life and it is only when one suppresses ones subconscious with regards to these memories, that problems start to arise. Acceptance and understanding with regards to things which happened in a previous life can go a long way in helping you in this life
Those who are familiar with the theory of karma, will know that it is believed that when one has led a good live and done good things, then you will in turn receive good in this life and in future lives, unless of course you change into a bad person at some point. In that case, rather than being blessed with goodness, you can expect to be surrounded by unpleasant events until such time that your karma once again becomes balanced.
Unfortunately, there still seems to be a great deal of confusion with regards to this interpretation. Unlike some choose to believe, you are not doomed to a life of misery simply because of your actions in a past life. Each time you are born into a new life you once again have the chance to do things in such a way so as to attract good karma. Of course once you reach the stage where you’re aware of the fact that a certain memory is from a past life, and that it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a bad person, you can then live happily in the knowledge that this life can be great.
